Instead of going straight to Sargodha I decided to go via Town of Jhelum.The drive from Mirpur to Jhelum was very pleasant as it was all plain.The massive walls of Mangla dam defined the road which circumvented it to reach the bridge over Jhelum. With view of water falling from from the Dam into the River. The sight was unforgettable.
Joining the Main GT road we reached Jhelum soon.I walked around the town for sometime before reaching the Bus station.
The rough journey:
The Hi Ace going to Sargodha seem very fit.I took the two seats in front.We were travelling a bad road between Upper Jhelum Canal on one side and River Jhelum on the other side.The road had lot of pot holes.I was told the road was destroyed by last flood.After about an hour journey one of the back wheels got detached and van started to drag without wheel on one side but the van driver managed to stop the van on one side. The passengers seating in back were badly shaken.It took some two hours for the rescue van to arrive and take us beyond.By this time the sun had set and it was quite chilly.
As we approached Mandi Bahuddin roads got better as work on double road was going on in patches.By passing Mandi we reached Sarghoda by 9pm.
Checked in decent Malik hotel opposite the Main Bus Station.After Dinner went around looking for ATM on a Rickshaw.On returned watch some Tv before dosing off.
Got up early in the morning and started my walk around the city taking photographs.See below.
Found Sarghoda; famous for F 16 Air Force base and its huge production of Kino is quite a City.I walked until noon to see most of the city including Main Bazars, Dc office,Courts and Secretariat. Farmers in large number could be seen collecting cheques under the Kisan Package given by Govt.to compensate loss in Cotton and Wheat crops.
