Bahawalnagar is a major town located in the eastern part of Bawalpur.It is close to Indian border.A canal from Suliamanki Head works bring water to Bahawalnager and all the villages and towns of the Region.
The single canal is split into two after a small distance from the Headwork.One eastern artery feeds Mandi,Haroonabad,Fort Abbas along the Indian border while the other one snails towards west passing above Bahawalnagar to Chishtian,Hasilpur etc.
Early morning one hour bus ride from Haroonabad to Bahawalnagar was pleasant passing through rich farms and orchids.
The bus dropped us on by pass far away from Town center.The rickshaw driver brought me to Paradise Hotel which was also center of Domino Pizza.
After lunch I walked around the city and reached the narrow congested old market which included a substantial gold market.
In the middle of the market I found number of good quality hotels,restaurants,number of Banks all fitted with ATMs.Brisk business could be observed in fast food,cold drink centers. Near my hotel there was big rush in many Medical centers.
Next day I had to go back to the Bus stand outside the Town to go to Kasur via Sulemanki Head works. The bus took me to the last village called Mandi.This village was very close to border and benefits from the eastern canal from the Head works.After one hour walk around the village I boarded the same bus to return to a point where I could get bus to Kasur.
The bus dropped me at Haveli after crossing Headwork.At the headwork Chinese engineers were busy reinforcing/replacing old gates on the headwork thus half of headwork was closed. Near the head work I saw milestones giving distances major Indian city like New Delhi and I was told this was famous much used Multan -Delhi road. People dream of the day when this route will reopen again.
From Haveli I had to take another bus to a transit point to find bus for Kasur.
