Lodran the center of Pakistan and natural Federal Capital
On 24th Nov 2015 I started from Jhang to Lodran.I discovered that it was necessary to go to Multan first.There was no direct shorter route Bus service via Khanewal was not available. I took a Shalimar bus at 1 pm from Vikky Bus stop(owned by Shaikhs) Reached Multan by 5.30 and booked my seat on premium Bus service of Faisal Movers who have established quality premises near main Bus station of Multan.The premises had proper resting facilities.
By the time I reached Lodran bypass; (as the Bus was going to Bawalpur) it was dark and I was worried.Thankful a Rickshaw was available which I and a co traveler took to reach Town center.Rickshaw driver dropped me in front of Murhaba Hotel.My co traveler upon learning that some one from Karachi is visiting Lodran for first time was very pleased.He (Malik Sarfaraz) insisted on coming along to ensure I get a room.The hotel was located on 2nd Floor of Shopping Plaza. It was new so had clean and good quality rooms which I liked but Malik felt the rate of Rs 1,500 was too much.
After settling me down Malik invited me for Brunch next day at his home,which I accepted.
Next day when I woke up for Fajr prayer.I found I was locked up in the Plaza as main gates were locked so I could not go out for my usual early morning walk through the Town.Disappointed I went to sleep again after watching Tv for sometime.
By 10am son of Malik arrived to take to their home located not very far from the Hotel.It turned out that Malik had go to his farm early in the morning.By 11.30 Malik returned and then we had a heavy Brunch. Later Malik took me to his substantial farm located on Khanewal road. He showed me impressive farm with Green House facilities.The farm was run on corporate lines with well paid professionals.
Later we visited the Railway Station to book seat for Karachi. Malik again showed me the small Town and did not leave me until I boarded Train at 2.30pm.Where in the whole World one would find host like Malik.No where except in Pakistan.This I say after travelling the Globe for 25 years.Thanks ALLAH I am a Pakistani.
Suggested Federal Capital:
Lodran happens to be the Center of Pakistan thus a natural choice as Federal Capital instead of Islamabad.It is a point from which all road and railway line coming from North cross before reaching Sutlej Bridge to go to South.It is also connected to Multan for onward connection to Dera Ghazi Khan and Baluchistan.
Logic and Justice demands that Federal Capital be moved to Lodran or a location near it so that people from all over Pakistan can reach easily. Current capital was Ayub's wim and fancy as Karachi was Jinnah's. Illogical decision should not be tolerated any more and urgent step should be taken in this regard.All political parties should give their view on this matter of great national interest.
NA 154:
Malik was supporter of PML N and predicted win for Mr. Balouch against Jahangir Tareen in NA 154 by election.He proved wrong.He informed that Tareen was considered a snobbish outsider who use to look down on Locals and wore hand gloves while shaking hands with common people.Besides his farm was in a remote area and he used Planes to go in and out thus not in touch with problems of the Area.He further remarked that Tareen made lot of money while in Govt and thus in a position to spend huge sums to win the seat.It seems Tareen managed to buy the seat at a very heavy price.One wonders how he will recoup the investment given that PTI is in opposition except in KP.May be KP will provide opportunity.
